Ndumberi got a grant from USADF that enabled them build and equip a cold room for keeping yoghurt fresh processed because the demand was high. They also bought a pasteurizer which increased their capacity to pasteurize raw milk. They bought a truck to enable them access new markets.

Ndumberi now has the capacity to pasteurize all 14,000 litres of the milk they receive from farmers and no longer sell raw milk. From the pasteurised milk, 3000 litres is processed into yoghurt which has even better prices. Ndumberi initially bought raw milk from farmers at KES. 30 per litre and sold half of it raw to other milk processors at KES. 37 per litre. They are now pasteurising all the milk and selling at KES. KES. 55 per litre and Yoghurt at KES. 135 per litre. Tarakwo is actively involved in marketing their processed milk products. Initially their market was in central Kenya only but now they have new markets in Nairobi and western Kenya. Ndumberi has increased the price at which they buy milk from farmers from KES. 30 per litre to KES. 39 per. This has motivated farmer to increase milk supply to Ndumberi from an average of 14,000 litters per day to 16,000 litres per day with some planning to buy more dairy cows so as to improve their daily production. Because of increased revenues Ndumberi has the capacity to buy raw milk from other milk processors whenever they have a shortage due to increased demand.
